Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is the surgical reshaping of the nose.
Dr. Kolenda focuses a large part of his practice on Rhinoplasty and he is a leader in this field. He is widely known for his reconstructive skills, and is one of a few facial plastic surgeons to have completed the fellowship program of Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery.
Rhinoplasty can be performed for aesthetic purposes, reconstructive correcting birth defects or for breathing problems. Many people choose rhinoplasty to re-shape or to alter the proportions of their nose so it better complements their other facial features. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia. Associated risks include potential reaction to the anesthetic, infection and bleeding.
To achieve facial balance, some patients may elect to have chin surgery (mentoplasty), eyelid lift surgery (blepharoplasty) or a face lift at the same time as the rhinoplasty.
