Recovery Timeline After Your Blepharoplasty in Toronto
LEARN MORE ABOUT BLEPHAROPLASTY PROCEDURES
One of the first things most people do when considering a cosmetic procedure, is review the recovery process. After all, it makes sense to find out exactly what you’re getting into and plan your time off accordingly. When it comes to blepharoplasty in Toronto, most patients describe the healing phase as fairly comfortable, however, this sensitive facial area holds on to swelling for some time. We’ll outline what to expect after your eyelid surgery and provide an overview of the recovery timeline.
Shortly after blepharoplasty in Toronto
This is generally an outpatient procedure, with patients undergoing surgery under local anaesthetic then heading home with another adult to help. Even though the operation is usually done as an awake procedure, surgery can also be performed under general anesthesia (especially the Lower Lids) and that is why you’ll need someone else to drive you home. This is because your vision is affected by swelling of the surrounding tissue and you can expect to have watery eyes and some blurriness for a few days post procedure.
Be careful not to rub your eyes, and apply cold compresses, antibiotic ointment or drops as your facial surgeon advises.
You may have permanent or dissolvable stitches, and you’ll return to see your facial plastic surgeon for removal or just a check-up, around the 3-5-day mark.
