What if we told you that people are changing the appearance of their noses without scalpels or surgery? In Toronto, rhinoplasty is non-surgical now. A longtime leading facial cosmetic procedure for people of all ages and backgrounds just developed more options.
What you need to know?
Until recently, the non-invasive, injectable and topical treatment cosmetic clinics offered were geared toward anti-ageing, skin resurfacing and acne treatment. While you can combat wrinkles and make dramatic complexion improvements without going under the knife, those who wanted a new nose were considering rhinoplasty surgery or nothing in years past. While our plastic surgeons are experts in the intricacies of this popular procedure, they’re equally thrilled to offer a newer, innovative approach people those seeking a subtle change and lower price.
At Verso Surgery Centre in Toronto, non-surgical rhinoplasty is done with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. You may be familiar with this natural, hydrophilic gel used in facial volume restoration, lip plumping and deep hydration facials. A densely crosslinked, thick version of this gel can be injected under the skin’s surface to reshape and remodel features temporarily. Depending on the brand, type, and your metabolism of the product, HA gels can stay in place for several months to more than a year. Using filler for nose jobs is a new option that often suits people who want to “test out” a look, or who only want a small change and don’t feel it’s worth a more costly and risky surgery.
While certain dramatic changes such as septum repair and decreases size aren’t possible without an operation, you might be surprised by how much transformation is now achieved through a simple, in-office injectable nose-job. learn more.
Non-surgical rhinoplasty in Toronto
What can we change with a non-surgical rhinoplasty?
A hump on the nasal bridge
Believe it or not, even though adding filler can’t reduce the size of a nose, artistic and talented plastic surgeons can place volume strategically around a bump to diminish its appearance and make it appear to be smaller. A hooked or bumped bridge can appear more defined and straight with filler injected carefully along the bridge.
Refine the tip of your nose
A droopy, downturned nasal tip can make a person self-conscious. Injectable neuromodulators like Botox can assist with releasing muscles that pull down in this area. As well, HA gel injected to reshape and upturn the nose tip can change a person’s whole look with just a small amount of volume.
Straighten the nose
Breathing occlusion due to a deviated septum cannot be improved through injectable treatments, however, often the appearance of a crooked nose is somewhat cosmetic, and the outward appearance can be changed with balancing gel injections.
Build a bridge
Certain Asian or African ethnicities commonly have low nasal bridges. They may wish to change this to alter their appearance, or for comfort- such as when wearing glasses. Additional structure and shape can be added to the nose and the bridge with a quick nose injection treatment.
Do you need a surgical rhinoplasty, or injection?
Our non-surgical rhinoplasty patients in Toronto generally have a few things in common. They typically want to see a small, additive change. They will either choose the less invasive route to save money or because they aren’t a good candidate for surgery. The reasons may be a combination of the two, or a test drive to get a feel for a new look before committing. Your nose is a central facial feature and even minute changes can sometimes lend significant effects.
The following are some of the pros and cons related to non-surgical rhinoplasty:
Pro: Because HA gel is natural and dissolvable, it’s considered to be a low-risk way to become more comfortable with making a cosmetic change.
Pro: The less invasive, injectable option requires minimal downtime and causes minimal discomfort
Pro: injectable nose jobs cost significantly less
Pro: changes are reversible using hyaluronidase, an injectable solution
Con: the results are temporary when using HA filler to sculpt your nose
Pros and cons of nasal surgery:
Pro: Permanence. For patients who want or need a dramatic structural change, surgical rhinoplasty is the most appropriate option in most cases. The results are permanent, compared with injection rhinoplasty.
Pro: The nose can be decreased in size or significantly altered. Many people choose a septorhinoplasty to improve breathing and make cosmetic adjustments.
Con: longer recovery. Nose surgery may require two weeks or more away from work and regular activity to allow for healing. The recovery time will be more uncomfortable with swelling and bruising a normal part of the process.
Con: price: The price is significantly higher for any surgical procedure which is a drawback for some.

What will your treatment be like?
You’ll be invited to a private treatment room after reading a treatment description, consent form and discussing the plan with your practitioner. While you recline or relax in a chair, your nasal tissue will receive some topical numbing. The filler product contains lidocaine which freezes the treatment area along with the initial injection. You won’t feel much discomfort, but the sensation of pulling or tugging on the nose can feel a bit strange.
After your treatment is complete, you’ll be able to see your results in the mirror immediately which never fails to impress. We’ll provide you with simple care instructions and a contact number in case you need any further assistance.
You’ll avoid the dizzying effects of general anaesthetic and be able to leave immediately post-procedure. The whole process could take as little as 15-30 minutes, and you could have the nose of your dreams over a lunch break or after work today!
You can schedule ongoing maintenance once or twice per year, depending on how your body metabolizes the product. It will very gradually decrease as the HA gel is naturally absorbed over time.
